JOS NORTH COUNCIL BOSS VISITS GANGARE AND OTHER COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY FLOOD DISASTER.

 


The Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Shehu Bala Usman has sympathized with  inhabitants of Gangare and some parts of Jos Jarawa Communities in the area whose Houses were submerged by floods.


The incident which occurred during  Saturday and Sunday evening rainfall, resulted in flood overtaking the two communities as a result of the pillars that holds Kaka madara pedestrian bridge and  that of Yan Tukwane which are in the state of collapse as well as other waterways within the localities.


Worried by this development, the community leaders, Councilor representing Gangare ward, Umar Abubakar, and Youth organizations intimated the Council Chairman Shehu Bala Usman on the disaster   with a view to ameliorate the plight inhabitants of the area. 


The Chairman arrived Gangare ward  and was received by community leaders as well as stakeholders of the community trekked a long distance to have an on the spot assessment of the extent of  damage Caused by the flood and pedestrian bridges. 


He directed the Supervisory Councilor for Social Services, Ari John to take immediate action by putting appropriate measures in place to safeguard the communities from future occurrences. 


The Chairman also conveyed the sympathy of Governor Simon Lalong to the people of Gangare and Jos Jarawa communities on the unfortunate incident and prayed Almighty Allah against a recurrence of the disasters. 


 Councilor representing Gangare Ward Umar Abubakar informed the Chairman that many houses were submerged by the floods noting that his visit to see for himself is a source of encouragement to the people of Gangare and Jos Jarawa communities. 



The Community Leader of Gangare, Mallam Guda commended the Jos North Council Chairman for the prompt measures taken to alleviate the plight of the people, saying the commencement of work on the pedestrian bridges and other waterways in the localities will bring a sight of relief to the inhabitants who are in a state despair as a result of the flood disaster.


 Stakeholders in Gangare, Youths including APC Chairman Jos North, Alhaji Sani Gangare and other Party faithful as well as other inhabitants of the area described the Chairman's visit as a welcome development.

JUST NOW: Woman Caught with Stolen AK-47

Security forces apprehended a middle-aged woman, Aisha Abubakar, from Katsina State, while she was on a bus traveling to Abuja from Katsina. The woman was found in possession of a stolen AK-47 rifle, prompting her arrest. Suspected Aisha Abubakar  During interrogation, Aisha revealed that she was driven by extreme hunger and desperation to accept the task from unknown individuals. She claimed that she was instructed to transport the weapon to a designated location near Yantumaki, where the owners would retrieve it. Aisha maintained that this was her first involvement in such a dangerous and illegal activity, and that her dire circumstances left her with little choice but to accept the job. Her statement highlights the devastating impact of poverty and hunger on individuals, leading them to engage in illicit activities out of desperation.

Tragedy at the National Assembly: Customs Officer Passes Away

Tragedy struck at the National Assembly on Tuesday when a senior officer of the Nigeria Customs Service passed away during a meeting with a House Committee. According to a statement released by House Spokesman Akin Rotimi, the officer suddenly fell ill at approximately 1 pm and despite prompt medical attention from first responders and the National Assembly Clinic's medical team, sadly succumbed to his condition. Nass Out of respect for the family's privacy, the officer's identity has not been disclosed at this time. The House of Representatives extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased and stands ready to support investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
