OUR STUDENTS' UNIONS SHOULD CHANGE THEIR THOUGHTS AND SAVE THE SYSTEM FROM TOTAL COLLAPSING

The level of silence by the students' unions is unreservedly condemnable and eqouvocally unstrategic in nature. Where do you think students can confidently go and express their grievances categorically without fear and contradiction?

I bet you, it's through students' unions only.

Fortunately, the whole idea behind the creation of various students' associations and unions is to categorically protect students' interests, fight for their welfares and advocate for their rights and liberty at all levels. But the high level of political conspiracy has tremendously change the entire narrative to another dimension.

When you are elected or nominated to represent students at all level of leadership, our expectations of you is the manifestation of your dedication, sacrifice and commitment towards fulfilling the saddled   responsibility mandated on you. But their level of fear and negligence has played a vital roles in bastardizing the entire system  beyond reasonable doubt.

Unfortunately, students' unions are only active and present when it comes to the  local and national political engagements,  because of the paltry sum of dividends which never and will never cater for their basic needs.

furthermore, the apex leadership of the  combined Nigerian students' unions; National Associations of Nigerian Students (NANS), has on several occasions met with the incumbent minister of Education Mall. Adamu Adamu few months back. The expectations  Nigerian students were to extend that, they think the reconciliations on the discrepancies between FG and ASUU would have bring about a lasting solutions for student to resume back to school. But the manners of approach adopted by leadership of NANS deteriorated the whole processes. And in my personal opinion, the NANS should be scraped because it's of no use to any Nigerian students.

In a similar vein, the ASUU's countinous rolling over its industrial action which metamorphosed  into an comprehensive, suffocating and indefinite strike, with aim of fighting for their members' welfare and students' welfares as claimed, has done more harm than good. If ASUU as an organization of intellectuals could tolerate and resist the excruciating maltreatment inflicted  by this inept government, that resulted into hunger to the considerable number of ASUU members what does NANS has to offer exactly? It's obvious that, the nonchalant attitudes of the present administration is the major attribute to this indefinite strike.

The Nigerian students are always on the receiving end, but our unions think that they're not capable enough to fight  for damages proliferated as a result of this inseesant strike actions what's their responsibilities there? The level of insincerity and greediness displayed by FG has stigmatised the whole process, leaving student misfortunes at the receiving end.

Meanwhile, if ASUU succeeds at the end,  the students neither got stimulus nor incentives as a result of their their tremendous sacrifices.

In my conclusion, I would like to reiterate on my stand with a piece of advice to the  students' unions, that should wake up from their sleepy mood and explore all strength and strategies to fight for the students' rights  on compensating students for the damages caused as the result of this unempathethic strike actions through formulation of deliberate legal policies.

Yet, for millions of Nigerians, especially people with special needs, the digital world remains out of reach due to systemic barriers and a lack of inclusive learning opportunities. My work as a journalist and digital advocate has focused on breaking these barriers, ensuring that technology serves as a tool for empowerment rather than exclusion. Through my engagement with individuals with disabilities and as the host of Duniyar Fasaha (Fasaha World) on Unity FM, I have worked to bridge the digital divide by providing foundational digital education to marginalized groups. By introducing people with special needs to basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet navigation, I have witnessed firsthand how technology can unlock new opportunities and transform lives. Reps Approve Tinubu’s Emergency Rule Request for Rivers State

The House of Representatives has approved President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s request to impose a state of emergency in Rivers State following heightened political tensions and security concerns. The decision, made during a plenary session on Wednesday, comes after weeks of instability in the oil-rich state, where political clashes and reports of pipeline vandalism have raised national security concerns. Why the Emergency Rule? The crisis in Rivers State stems from an ongoing power tussle between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and state lawmakers, a situation that has escalated into widespread unrest. Reports also indicate that increased incidents of oil theft and pipeline vandalism are affecting Nigeria’s economic stability. President Tinubu, in his emergency rule proclamation, suspended Governor Fubara and other elected officials, appointing retired Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas as the military administrator to oversee the state’s affairs.
